BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE EGALITARIAN SOCIETY WITH LORD RAM IN AUSTRALIA

By Sonia Fingleton, Sydney, 5 October 2020

In some global quarters, the shared trials of our modern age have intensified dreams of closer, sustainable communities, racial and religious tolerance and a search for honourable leaders, who touch the souls of a gentler humanity.

On the southern side of the globe, such dreams have spurred action in the sun strewn West Australian capital of Perth where inspired individuals from India and Australia are working together to establish a Grand Shri Ram  Temple temple in honour of one of histories most revered leaders, the ancient Hindu God, Rama.

Lord Rama is also known as Maryada Purushottam, which means the perfect man! He is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, the embodiment of truth and morality, the perfect son, the perfect husband to his wife Sita, perfect brother and a perfect King who was born to destroy the evil forces of his age.

This far reaching project is initiated by the International Shri Ram Vedic and Cultural Association led by Dr Dilawar Singh who is also President of the International Business Council of Australia. He with family, friends and colleagues throughout Australia and India have garnered strong community and Government support and will launch a major fundraising campaign later this month.

The project will embody all the qualities of the much respected and revered Lord Ram reaching far into its local community, across Australia and into India.

The Grand Shri Ram Temple will be the nucleus of this inspirational project that will also encompass Yoga and Meditation Centres; Wellness Centres; Cultural Centres; Learning Centres; Multifunctional Community Halls, Community Kitchens, Art Galleries and Libraries of Ancient Books, Scripts, Ramayana and other Vedic publications. It will also be the site for multicultural shows and festivals, holistic wellbeing programs, devotional music/song performances, and presentations by renowned modern day Gurus and Saints.

It will be totally dedicated to the development of Mind, Body and Spirit for people of all nations focused on creating an egalitarian society and built on the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family).
